Orientation for next years 6th graders and other new students will be tonight at 6:00 PM.

 

ALL Aerospace permission slips are due to Mrs. Tisron today.

 

7th & 8th grade boys interested in attending the Loy Norrix Basketball clinic should see Mrs. Covault in the counseling office for more information.

NO CELL PHONES ARE TO BE USED IN THE SCHOOL BUILDING, even after school hours. All cell phones are to be used outside the building. COATS & JACKETS are not to be worn in the classrooms; they are to be put in lockers when you enter the building at 7:28 AM. If you are cool in a classroom you may wear a sweater, a hoodie or a sweatshirt. Book bags (including the string type bags) are meant to be left in your locker, NOT carried to classes.

All visitors should be buzzed in by the office and then sign in. Students are not to open doors for any one but school staff.  Even after school, students should not be opening doors; all visitors should buzz to be admitted by the office.

Every student needs to wear their ID at all times while in school.  You will need your student ID to attend games, and other after school events.

It’s not too late to order your copy of the 2011-2012 Hillside Yearbook. Bring your $20.00 in an envelope with your name and homeroom on it to the library to insure that a copy will be saved for you. The yearbook will be here soon, so don’t miss out.

 

Use peer mediation to settle conflicts. If you have any teasing, arguing, rumors or name calling issues fill out a blue sheet in your English classroom or in the main office. Trained students can help you solve your problem, every Tuesday and Thursday at lunch. If you have a more difficult issue or are still having problems Tell -Mrs. Tisron, Mrs. Forster-Wimbley or another trusted adult!

There is a Student Senate meeting after school tomorrow, May 16th.

The Hillside Student Senate has announced the color theme for this year’s Farwell Dance: Royal Blue, Light Blue and Silver.

 

Today is the last day for NJHS Students to sign up to lead tours during Thursday’s New Student Orientation. Please sign up in the counseling office during your lunch.

All 8th grade boys planning to play football at K-Central next year should sign up with Coach Robinson during lunch today.

 

Peer mediation is happening today-so if you are having an issue with another student please fill out a blue mediation sheet.

Friday

Congratulations to the Hillside Track Eagles for defeating Maple Street yesterday. The boys won 78 to 19 and the girls won with 73 to 19. Go Eagles! Let’s get ready for Linden Grove on Monday!

Mrs. Tirson will be holding Saturday School this tomorrow.  Students should see her or one of their core teachers if you need or want to come. This is a great way to improve your grades or to finish any missing work.

 

May 4, 2012 is a half day of school for grades 6 -12. It is the end of our fifth six weeks marking period.

 

May’s PTSO meting will be held in the Library on May 8th. The meeting will start at 6:00 PM.

Track meet today at K-Central!!!

 

Mr. Paige is out this afternoon so no 1 hour detentions can be served with him after school today.

 

Congrats to our DI teams for their strong showing at State this last Saturday. One of our 7th grade teams came in third and the other came in tenth and our 6th grade team took 7th place. k.
